An Actors Life: Film, Television & Voice
Chip's Films This CenturyFilm
Films have always been my 2nd favorite acting medium. I love the whole process of putting a story together on the big screen. Unfortunately it’s difficult to earn money making films so any chance I get is usually a thankful experience.
Everyone on the set wants to do a great job and generally puts in the extra effort. There is a lot of heart and soul in filmmaking. And, like every actor says: “I wish I could make more!”

Chip's Television SoapsTelevision
As a foreigner living in Holland it’s difficult to get any continuing roles in Dutch Television. In real life people speak Dutch and English together. In Dutch television you have to speak Dutch perfectly or play a foreigner and speak Dutch with an accent. That means I get to play foreigners a lot.

In the summer of 2005 I had the opportunity to work with John Cleese at a sound studio in New York. We were doing comic voices for TomTom GPS navigation systems. He had just finished the animated movie SHREK and mentioned how much he loved doing ‘voice work’ at this stage of his life. No worries about make-up and costumes… just jump into the role!

"First of all, I choose the great roles,
and if none of these come, I choose the
mediocre ones, and if they don't come,
I choose the ones that pay the rent."
